Mikenda Farm 4h Club

September 1,  2009  Minutes

The meeting  was called to order at 7:22 by KC Campbell, seconded by Ashley Dixon. KC then led the club in the American Pledge and 4-H Pledge. Mikayla Kearney sang The Tarzan Song. Jem Mason called role. Mikayla gave the treasurers report; there is approximately $2000 in the account.

Unfinished Business

Minutes from the last meeting were not available so therefore could not be approved. Mikayla and Miss Brenda talked about 4-H Day, August 29, where the public was invited to see booths of each 4-H club to try to raise interest in the clubs. Meeting dates were discussed.  It was decided that the meetings will be held the first tuesday of the month at 7:15 pm and the third Sunday of the month at 4pm at Mikenda Farm.  The next meeting will be held on Sunday, Sept 20th unless there is a conflict with a horse show.

New Business Covered

Our 4h Club and the horse project was explained to those in attendance who were interested in becoming new members.  It was explained that dues for returning members is $15, new member $18.  4-H officer duties were explained and members turned in what they offices they want to run for.  All member were encouraged to run for an office. The upcoming Halloween Haunted Hayride was discussed and and explained to those new to the club.  We discussed some things that we wanted to do different this year and that we may want to change prices, etc.  The committees for the Haunted Hayride need to be formed and will be decided at the next meeting.
